Forest destruction at the current rates increase world carbon emission by a whopping 20 percent!
For many people, for example, the Maisin in Papua New Guinea, forests are their homelands. The Maisin have basically lived there for thousands of years and without destroying them.
Of course, the Maisin's rejected logging propsals and are now trying to come up with new ways to live without loseing their forests heritage.
Incredible as it seems, the world is cutting down these irreplaceable Ancient Forests to make useless cheap paper and wood products. Other products they make are tissue, toilet paper, milk carton and also, phone books.
None of this is necessary, if we use these products such as wood and paper more efficiently consumer demands can be met from like well-managed second handed forests, and plantations.
....Many of these loggers probably do not know the extent of the damage they are causing. This cartoon illistration might be the closest thing to the real aspect of these loggers.
The beauty of the Ancient Forests is destroyed "everyday"! The Ancient Forests may one day disappear...and the never discovered tresses and animals will remain undiscoverd if we don't start doing something about it.
"By reducing, reusing, and recycling paper and other materials would the Ancient Forests survive.
